BBL™ CHROMagar ™ Candida
(7W) CHROMAGAR CANDIDA AGAR 90MM
BBL™ CHROMagar™ Candida is a selective medium for the isolation and presumptive identification of yeast and filamentous fungi and differentiation of Candida albicans, C. tropicalis and C. krusei.1 Due to the differences in morphology and colors of the yeast colonies, this medium facilitates the detection of mixed yeast cultures in specimens.2,3 It may also be used as a selective isolation medium for other yeasts and for filamentous fungi instead of Sabouraud Dextrose Agar or similar media. These formulations utilize a chromogen mix that consists of artificial substrates that release different-colored compounds upon degradation by specific microbial enzymes. This assures the direct differentiation and identification of certain species or the detection of certain groups of organisms with only a miniumum of confirmatory tests. 100 x 15mm style plates.
